Hickory is one of the hardest domestic woods, scoring 1820 on the Janka hardness scale, with a stiffness and density that isn’t found in other North American wood species. This makes hickory durable and hard-wearing, and a fantastic choice for your hardwood floor. With a closed grain and moderate definition, hickory isn’t as obviously grainy as oak, but will bring character to any room.
